Lowest number of Covid patients at Sant Camil Hospital since September

There’d been fears of a fourth wave of Covid-19 and the collapse of the hospital system across Catalonia. But the most recent data has confirmed that the worst case scenario has not only not arrived, it has not even come close. Sant Camil Hospital has recorded its lowest number of patients being treated with Covid since last September.

Sant Camil now has just 12 patients admitted with Covid, the lowest figure since 28 September, just before the second wave began, and which resulted in the hospitality industry having to close from mid–October. The data underlines the trend of recent weeks, in which there has been a continuous decline in cases of Coronavirus, and of those requiring hospital treatment for it.

The number of patients requiring hospitalisation in April is also lower than March, although sadly six deaths were also recorded during the month, with the last death occurring a fortnight ago.
