Work begins on the new roundabout of ‘Bòbila II’ in Sitges

The urbanisation of the new area of Bòbila in Sitges – which is within the development plans of La Plana and Santa Bàrbara – has seen the start of roadworks in the district, but only to carry out work on the roundabout at the exit of the C-32. This is in order to connect the motorway with the entrance to the new neighbourhood, and which the developers are undertaking themselves.

Work on the Bòbila II project has not yet begun, and the board of proprietors has convened a meeting in the coming days to decide when to start developing the area.

The province of Barcelona’s ‘Territorial Commission of Urbanisation’ issued a report in favour of the modification of the Sitges Municipal Urban Development Plan (POUM) in June 2016, and which allows for the construction of a commercial shopping zone in the Bòbila area of Sitges, where the land had initially been intended for residential use only.

Now that the residential use has changed, a shopping area and a 24-hour service station will also be built.
