All Covid-19 figures for Sitges are below the Catalan average

The latest Covid-19 statistics for Sitges are all below the Catalan average. Up until now, the exception had been  the ‘rebound risk’ figure – but even this is now below the average across the region.

In the last week, there have been 17 new cases of Coronavirus recorded in Sitges, one of the best figures since last September. The previous week had been 27. Seen as a percentage increase on the accumulated figures (last week the figure was 1,607 and it now stands at 1,624), it is a 1.05% increase – below the Catalan average of 1.65%.

The ‘rebound risk’ (or iEPG)* remains between 100 and 200 points, which has been common during the last two months, but is now in the lower range. Today it is at 124, while across Catalonia as a whole it is 275.

What is relevant is the decrease in the rate of contagion (RT), which a week ago exceeded 2 points. It is now at 0.97; that is slightly below the health recommendations (in all of Catalonia it is at 1.01).

The Covid-positive results of PCR and antigen tests are also low (3.53%), while the cumulative incidence rate (IA) over 14 days is 125.35, less than half the figure across Catalonia (274.16).

In Sant Pere de Ribes, the data also remain stable, despite having experienced a small but insignificant increase in the last week. The ‘rebound risk’ (iEPG)* is at 127 points and the rate of contagion (RT) at 1.13.

*The potential rebound risk (iEPG) measures possible new cases diagnosed over the next 14 days, to evaluate the growth or slowdown in the contagion. It is calculated by multiplying the accumulated incidence rate (IA) and the rate of contagion (RT).
