Sant Camil Hospital: lowest number of Covid-19 patients in last 100 days

While the latest epidemiological data is showing a rise in Coronavirus levels in Sitges, the situation at Sant Camil Hospital is the most favourable it has been for the last 100 days. As of Monday, there were 16 patients with the virus admitted to the hospital.

The situation in hospitals is not an indicator of the evolution of the virus – but it is a determining factor regarding decisions made on restrictions.

At a time when a relaxation of measures has occurred – namely the re-opening of the comarca (county) perimeter border to allow travelling – the Sant Camil Hospital has recorded its lowest number of Coronavirus patients for the last three and a half months.

The 16 patients stand as the lowest number since the first half of December, when there were a total of 15. This week there are 5 less patients with the virus when compared to Monday of last week.

Further favourable data includes the substantial decline of registered deaths due to Coronavirus.  In the last two weeks, one Covid-19 related death has been registered at the hospital.
