Dead dolphin found on San Sebastian beach

The body of a dolphin was found early on Friday morning, after being carried by the current to the shore of San Sebastian beach in Sitges. The remains of the marine mammal were removed in the early hours of the morning by members of the Centre for the Recovery of Marine Animals (CRAM) and rural agents.

Its body – measuring almost 2 metres long – was in poor condition, and it is believed the dolphin had been dead for days.

The discovery was made by a local resident in Sitges who alerted the police as to its whereabouts. In response, two local police officers were sent to the beach – and a Mossos d’Esquadra patrol car was also present at the scene this morning.
