This weekend in Barcelona sees the 2018 edition of the Drap-Art Festival take place, an event that showcases artworks made with recycled materials.
Once more based in the city’s Maritime Museum, the Catalunya International Sustainable Art Festival has a mission to draw attention to current social and environmental issues in the Mediterranean, particularly those concerning the sea, including the Catalan coastline, while also promoting local culture and gastronomy.
Entrance to the festival is free and visitors will have the chance to peruse 60 works of art from 50 artists, as well as enjoy live art demonstrations and installations, all of which highlight the myriad creative possibilities that second-hand materials can offer.
The programme also includes workshops, talks, performances, live music and tastings, plus representatives from different environmental and social projects will be at Drap-Art to provide information about their work and aims.
When: 8-9 December, 11am-8pm
Where: Museu Marítim, Avda. de les Drassanes
