Madrid Horse Week leaps into action

Spain’s leading equestrian event, the Madrid Horse Week (MHW), returns for its sixth edition on 23 November for a full programme of competitions, social events and related activities for fans of all ages.

Among the highlights of Madrid Horse Week 2018 are the FEI Dressage World Cup, which is being held in Spain for the first time, and the FEI Jumping World Cup.

There are also pony turf races featuring junior riders aged between 8 and 11 and their small but fast ponies, and the finals of the Maestros de la Vaquera Cup, a contest for experts in doma vaquera, Spain’s traditional riding discipline.

Among the events at the Madrid Horse Week is the Maestros de La Vaquera Cup.

Running alongside the equestrian competitions, the MHW Village has almost 90 stands from national and international brands; the large range of products is both related to horses and to the leisure sector in general, and includes clothing, accessories, services and much more.

For children, a number of activities are available including the chance to ride a pony and learn how to clean and feed these animals as part of an ‘equestrian baptism’ at the end of which they get a special diploma. Face painting and a play park are also on offer.

And for anyone looking to really push the boat out at Madrid Horse Week, there’s a hospitality service that includes VIP tables (waiter service and meals throughout the whole event), Stand Boxes (with room for up to 6 people and passes for the VIP Corner), and VIP Boxes (for up to 8 people with personalised service and a range of food and drink options, among other features).
