The first major homage to Montserrat Caballé after her death will be held on 17 November in Barcelona’s Cathedral.
The tribute to the Catalan world-class soprano, who died on 6 October, will include Verdi’s ‘Requiem,’ performed by the Orchestra and the Choir of the Liceu, Barcelona’s renowned opera house.
Several artists will also join the event including Ainhoa Arteta, Maite Beaumont, Nikolai Schukoff and Alexander Vinogradov.

Liceu Opera House, organising the tribute, will also open its doors for the people who want to follow it from a big screen for free.
The tickets will be available on Liceu’s website on 12 November.
This event will precede the main event which is still being organised in tribute to Caballé, whose funeral was held on 8 October, and will be held next spring.
According to the opera house, it will have ‘a global scale’ and will star some of the greatest current opera and lyrical singers in the world.
